About: This project consists of a new multipurpose auditorium building located at Park Lake State School at Park Lakes on the Gold Coast. The building was designed using structural steel framing wall and roof framing. A high level of co-ordination with the architectural team and contractor was required due to the complex geometry of the building and state of the art roof and wall cladding which are unique to this type of project.
The structural steel used in the entire auditorium was specified with the intention of using recycled steel to minimise the buildings carbon footprint…
A high level foundation system and a slab on ground structure were adopted for this project as a result of a value engineering process by Odyssey Consulting Group. Considerable savings in the structure have been realised by the building contractor, compared to the original structural engineering concept prepared by another consultant.
